Our Why and Mission

Skydive Orange is a member-based organization whose mission is to ensure that everyone who walks through the doors embarks on one of the most memorable, (if not completely life-changing) experiences. We want everyone to enter as strangers, but leave as family.

We value honesty, integrity, teamwork, and a sense of adventure. We are a group of people who believe in hard work, dedication and pure grit to make what others deem unachievable, just an arm’s length away. We foster a safe environment with top-notch gear, staff, and training. We have a mutual trust for one another, are united by a passion for the sport, and treat each other as family.

We are respectful of fellow staff, students, guests, and vendors. We celebrate each other’s victories and support one another to ensure the lemons become lemonade. We won’t tolerate egos, bullying or hatred… although our moral compasses may not always point in the same direction; we are a unified front and intolerant of bad apples who undermine the well being of others.

Although our mascot is not a mouse with large, black ears; we truly believe that this is “one of the most magical places on earth”… the dream of flight becomes reality, the impossible becomes probable, and the people here strive to make each moment a memorable one.

What We Do Here – Serving Richmond and the World! 

Now that you know what we believe, we’d love to share what we do. Skydive Orange is a full-service skydiving center meaning that we cater to three distinct groups of customers: 

• Tandem Skydiving – For those with no experience, but big dreams of adventure!
  
• Skydiver Training –  We also have a training program known as Accelerated Free Fall (AFF)  for those wishing to graduate from the tandem jump and become a licensed skydiver and join our community.
  
• Licensed Skydivers – Our skydiving center – or “drop zone” – hosts major events for our experienced skydivers which attracts people from as close as Richmond to as far as Reunion Island on the other side of the planet! 

How We Do It 

If you’re not familiar, you may not be aware that the kind of airplane you jump from plays a major role in your skydiving experience! Skydivers flock far and wide to enjoy our events and our airplanes. At the time of this writing, we proudly fly the Rolls Royce of skydiving aircraft – a DeHavilland Twin Otter and now a Cessna 208 Caravan… she’s a thing of beauty! The benefit of these airplanes is their roominess and speed to 13,500 feet. 

It’s not uncommon for us to host large groups from Richmond, VA because of our roomy airplanes. Our capacity allows for multiple people in each group to skydive together.
