Skydiving dropzones are interesting little biospheres: each has a unique population and environment. So, which one is right for you? When looking for your place in the skydiving world, it can be tough to find a dropzone that supports your niche. That is unless you stumble across Skydive Orange! Whether a shredder, a first-time skydiver, or somewhere in between, there is a place for you at Skydive Orange. Here’s why. 

There’s Something for Everyone

Some dropzones are geared entirely toward a tandem skydiver customer base while others focus their efforts on drawing in licensed skydivers. While there is nothing wrong with either approach, we aim to provide a warm, welcoming atmosphere no matter where you are along the spectrum. 

Load Organizers

Whether a super experienced jumper or a relatively novice skydiver, there’s nothing quite as frustrating as making the drive to the dropzone to find a ghost town. Let’s face it, solo skydives just aren’t as fun, especially when compared to sharing the sky with some new-found friends! At Skydive Orange, we have built up quite a community of active fun jumpers. Our experienced skydiver community is important to Skydive Orange, and so, to facilitate the growth and skills of our jumpers, nearly every weekend in the spring, summer, and fall, we sponsor organizers from multiple disciplines. 

Event Calendars Stacked with Courses and Events

In addition to offering load organizers, Skydive Orange offers an array of events to entertain our licensed skydiver population.  The two staple boogies hosted each year at Skydive Orange are the Cinco de Mayo boogie and the Big O Boogie—each is a ton of fun, so keep an eye out on our calendar for the dates and registration links! While boogies can sometimes seem like the star of the show, there is plenty to get involved in at Skydive Orange. Throughout the year, we also offer events for small formation skydiving, freefly group events, hybrid jumps, canopy formation events, and canopy courses.

Team Training Opportunities

Our modern facilities and amenities draw skydivers from far and wide and make us a top pick for skydiving teams interested in various levels of competition. Just what do we offer? Crisp air-conditioned classrooms, cushy padded packing area, multi-stall bathrooms, showers, televisions for post-jump review and debrief, a fully stocked gear store, and on-site rigging services. In addition to these amenities, dedicated and qualifying teams can even receive support from Skydive Orange in the form of financial incentives. 

First Jump Options

Alright, so what about those who have not yet made a skydive? If you are interested in seeing what this whole skydiving thing is all about, there are two primary options for you. One option is to make a tandem skydive with one of our qualified, professional tandem instructors. After reaching a height of either 13,500 feet or 17,500 feet (depending on which package you choose), you will exit the aircraft and experience terminal velocity at 120 mph. At the appropriate time, the parachute will be deployed, and you’ll get to see just what the world looks like from a bird’s eye view!

If the idea of being strapped to an instructor just doesn’t strike your fancy, there is another option. After sitting through our 6-8 hour jump course, you can have the opportunity to make your first solo skydive wearing your own parachute and assisted in freefall by two experienced, professional instructors.

Thorough and Effective Student Training Programs

If you are interested in learning to skydive for yourself, Skydive Orange is the perfect spot to learn. We utilize the most current skydiving instruction method, the Accelerated Freefall Skydiving Program, to get you off the ground and into the air as a licensed skydiver. And as you’ve read, once you’re done and achieve your skydiving license, you’ll have plenty of events to be involved in!

Open Year-Round

At Skydive Orange, while the seasons may change, the fun never has to stop. Weather permitting, we skydive every weekend year-round! In the summer, we add additional days of operation, and again weather permitting, are open Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and most federal holidays to give you as many opportunities to touch the sky as possible!
