Winter is slowly creeping in (as it annoyingly does every year), and what better way to mentally prepare for the off-season than to dream about the best places to skydive when it’s nice and sunny!? There are dropzones in nearly every corner of the world. It’s hard to narrow it down, but let’s take a peek at our top 6 destinations for the most beautiful skydiving experience.
It depends on what you’re looking for! Every dropzone has out-of-this-world views, because where else can you see the world from 2 miles up surrounded by nothing but the big, blue sky? Whether you’re after stunning ocean views, mountain peaks, or a mix of the two, these dropzones have you covered with superior sights for the eyes and first-class vibes for the soul.
Obviously, we had to make the cut … we’re Virginia’s premier dropzone! Skydiving Virginia is a must, and here at Skydive Orange, we pride ourselves on offering world-class service to licensed, student, and tandem skydivers while being a club-operated dropzone to preserve that hometown feel. Although the summer is our busy season, we are open year-round and Virginia’s fall foliage from above is a must-see fiery illusion. Plus, our rockstar of an airplane fits twenty-two people – yes, 22 – to allow you to jump with your friends. Come see us!
Skydive Dubai also flawlessly accommodates tandem students and licensed jumpers! As neat as it would be to make Skydive Dubai your home dropzone, that may not be possible, making it the perfect place to check off doing a specialty jump. Free-falling over the Palm Jumeirah is iconic and not something many people can say they’ve done – go be one-in-a-million!
Skydive Dubai not only offers tandem skydives, solo skydiving training, and licensed skydiver jumps but also onsite indoor skydiving with their vertical wind tunnel! Wind tunnels are used for those who want to master the art of indoor flight or advance their freefall skills more quickly than they can in the sky – it’s no wonder Skydive Dubai skydivers are total shredders!
If you want to skydive where Tom Cruise does, then Skydive Perris is the place to be. Skydive Perris boasts insanely experienced instructors, solo skydiving training, an onsite wind tunnel, onsite restaurant and bar that’s open all day, and a swimming pool. Perhaps most known for its remarkable aircraft fleet, Skydive Perris can guarantee (weather-depending) being open 7 days a week and flying at least one load every hour (usually more)! Skydive Perris has ultimate skydiving weather and classic SoCal sights. From the San Bernardino National Forest to the Pacific Ocean, where else can you see both at the same time? They really provide among best skydives in the U.S.A.
Skydive Ramblers has something for everyone, literally everyone – Australia allows people as young as 16 years old to skydive with parental permission! The minimum age for skydiving in the good ole US of A is 18. Skydive Ramblers offers skydiving for tandem students and licensed skydivers, and an unmatched perspective of the Gold Coast. With on-site cabins, an inground swimming pool, and regular bonfire nights, Skydive Ramblers’ “Famous for Fun” motto proves to be true!
If you’re looking for skydiving in Washington state, look no further – SkySno is where it’s at! Being only 20 minutes from the city, they might as well be called Skydive Seattle, making them the ideal destination for avid skydivers and city explorers alike. Skydive Snohomish is rich in history and is a top bucket-list dropzone for many licensed skydivers. Their amenities for licensed skydivers, spectators, and tandem students are truly unbeatable. Their ideal season is the summer and they offer 360-degree views of the Cascades Mountain Range and the San Juan Islands, you really can’t beat it!

When determining where you would like to skydive, there are a few things to look out for: 1) Check USPA membership! We recommend the dropzone is a member of the United States Parachute Association (USPA), one of the governing bodies of skydiving operations worldwide. USPA membership assures that the dropzone adheres to the rules and regulations put in place by the USPA to keep skydivers and tandem students safe, which includes only engaging rated and highly-experienced instructors. 2) Check the reviews! If reviews are consistently good, that’s a green flag! If the reviews are a bit “when it’s good it’s great and when it’s bad it’s real bad,” you should take a beat before booking there.
We encourage you to call the dropzone to ask about their protocols regarding safety and for their safety record. The majority of dropzones will be proud to share this information with you. If they pass the vibe check, go for it! Blue skies!
