Skydive Orange Facilities

Tuesday, September 24, 2019

Not all dropzones are created equal. Often, facilities are geared one of two ways; they aim, almost exclusively, to attract tandem student customers or set up operations primarily with licensed skydivers in mind. Though, this need not be the case. It is possible to establish a facility that is perfectly suited for everyone, from novice to ninja, a place for beginners and experienced skydivers alike: a place like Skydive Orange.

No matter where you are on the spectrum, shaky-kneed and nervous at the prospect of your first skydive or setting out to plan an epic 600th jump, Skydive Orange has what you need.

First-Class Hangar

In skydiving, the hangar is the hub of activity. It’s suited for visitors, spectators, and participants alike. This is the space where we excitedly chatter away about the great jump we’ve had, pack our parachutes, plan the next jump, and head back up to do it all again. Inside the hangar is where you’ll check-in for your tandem skydive and where you’ll head to check-in if you decide to learn to skydive. Within the hangar, you’ll find smiling faces, air-conditioned classrooms, a gear store stocked with t-shirts and skydiving equipment, and most importantly, newly built, multi-stall bathrooms.

Skydive Orange Twin Otter Aircraft

Stylish Rides

At Skydive Orange, we are lucky enough to have one of the most sought-after skydiving planes in the industry, the Twin Otter. The Twin Otter features bench seating for up to 22 passengers, a wide door for skydiving exits, and a zippy 15-minute ride up to an altitude of 13,500 feet. For tandems, AFF students, and experienced jumpers alike, the Twin Otter is a favorite skydiving “bird.”

Some skydivers make a point to jump from as many different aircraft as they can, seeking out specialty aircraft to cross off their list. Skydive Orange is a destination where these jumpers can make their dreams reality. During our many events we host, we often bring in additional “jump plane” options, like helicopters and tailgate aircraft (perfect for those ever-fun inflatable jumps).

Skydive Orange Classrooms

Top-Tier Training

As home to one of the country’s premier skydiving schools, Skydive Orange draws would-be skydivers from around the globe.  Students who choose to learn with Skydive Orange can take advantage of our training facility, complete with air conditioned classrooms for ground instruction, and our experienced team of skydiving instructors.

Expert Rigging Services

One of the worst feelings for a licensed skydiver is strolling up to the manifest window on a nice, bright blue, calm wind day only to realize your reserve parachute, which has to be inspected and re-packed every 180 days is….out of date. Lucky for us, at Skydive Orange we have rigging services offered within the main hangar. Swing by our full-time, full-service rigging loft to easily avoid the expired reserve debacle!

Plenty to Do

Whether it’s the infamous Big O boogie or our weekly Load Organizers, there are plenty of events to get involved in. We regularly offer canopy courses, night jumps, and USPA Coach and AFF-Instructor courses to help you continue to learn and progress in the sport.

Don’t just take our word for it, stop by and visit our facility today!
