Here’s our flashback Friday video! Lambert shooting a tandem video for Ms. Mandy Alderman and her Tandem Instructor, Chris Wagner!
Skydive Orange originally operated out of Bradshaw Airpark in Buckingham County, and was called Buckingham Parachute Center. Founder Don Simms brought the company to Orange County, and the first skydive was made in Orange in 1977. We have been in continuous operation at Orange County Airport ever since.
In 1984, management changed hands and we officially became a Club-operated drop zone. The name Skydive Orange was inspired by Gus Wing, and it’s what we have been called for the past 25+ years. In the photo on the right, you can see our old hangar.
We’ve grown at a swift pace, and we continue to flourish. In May of 2012, we completed the construction of our new hangar. We look forward to the future — welcoming new tandem skydivers every weekend, teaching AFF students, and growing as a club.
The facilities at Skydive Orange are impressive! Our skydiving operations are based out of Orange County Airport in beautiful Orange, VA. The Orange County Airport is a public use, general aviation airport operated under the supervision of the County Administrator.
If you are a visitor or spectator, inside the hangar you will find some picnic tables. These are a great shady place to wait on a hot day. Outside are bleachers so that you can sit down and watch your friends/family land.
We are a member of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce! Check out everything that Orange County has to offer!
