Basic
Body Flight Programs:
We offer professional
and intensive programs to teach the fundamentals of relative work in a safe,
relaxed and fun format. The courses cover all of the basic flying positions and
principles for effective relative work, moving from simple skills and exercises
to more complex ones. Utilizing the very best training available will
drastically shorten the time and expense required to emerge as a safe, skilled
skydiver and will greatly increase the fun and satisfaction from achieving
successful skydives.

One on One:
The course is a 20-jump program. At
all times safety is the main consideration. The course begins with the
fundamentals of a relaxed neutral flying position with a logical
progression to more advanced skills.
|
|
The skills taught include forward and backwards
movement, level controls, center turns, side-slides and super-positional
moves, which combines two or more of these movements. You will have the
opportunity to learn a wide variety of exits, gaining an understanding of
the relative wind on leaving the aircraft. A good track is essential for
safe break-off after relative work, and we place great emphasis on flat
tracking skills. You will receive canopy control instruction to learn more
about how your parachute flies and how to handle different wind
conditions, turbulence and less-than-perfect spotting. At the end of the
course you will have all of the skills necessary for successful formation
skydiving and will also be a safe canopy pilot.

Three on One:
This program teaches SDU's Basic Body Flight skills in a 4-Way format. The
"3 on 1" structure allows you to share the cost of the coach
& video. In addition to the Basic Body Flight flying skills, you'll
learn 4-Way skills like linked exits, level control, cross-referencing and
keys. By the end of the program you will be able to plan and complete a
successful 4-Way skydive.

University's Teaching Techniques:
Our courses utilize muscle-memory and visualization techniques proven in many
other sporting fields. We place great importance on the benefits of goal
setting, with thorough reviews after each jump and at the end of each day. The
ground training is very thorough and ensures success in free fall. In air your
coach will assist with correcting maneuvers to ensure the most efficient flying
positions are achieved in free fall. After each skydive we emphasize the
importance of identifying the positive areas of the skydive and suggest simple
ways of improving areas where the skills have not yet been mastered.
Performance:
By training intensively with professional assistance you have an opportunity to
accelerate your skills; which would normally require hundreds of jumps. Our
Basic Body Flight instruction will save you time and money by helping you learn
the skills necessary to become a good formation skydiver. In order to succeed
you will need to be dedicated and committed to improving your own skydiving, We
recommend a minimum of 5 jumps to observe a lasting improvement in flying
skills. We are confident you will enjoy a fun, progressive learning environment.
