Updated 05/17/2007 - Hello Everyone! We have something new and exciting to offer those interested in RW (Relative Work) :-) The remaining members of the 4-way RW team Event Horizon have decided to forgo official team training this year and instead concentrate on increasing the participation, skill level, and success in “larger way” formation skydiving. As many of you know, we have “organized” dives in the past on non-team-training days. We are formalizing this a little more this year and hope you will join us. This organizing is free and there are no minimum skill levels other than an A-license. Safety, of course, is first. We are scheduling about 2 months in advance and will update the calendar accordingly. We plan to have 2 different types of organizing days: “Open” and “Sign-Up”. On the “Open” days, we plan to include anyone who is interested as long as there is enough time to prepare (“dirt dive”). For those who are less experienced, we can divide into smaller groups. We will jump all day, weather permitting. Keep in mind that the group(s) could vary throughout the day as people come and go; debriefs will be optional depending on what the group(s) want. On the “Sign-up” days, we ask that you arrive at the drop zone and “sign up” no later than 9:00am and *commit* to jumping together as a group for the remainder of the day. The purpose of these days is to get a consistent group together for a series of skydives (with debriefs); this type of organizing is usually much more successful as the day progresses, and we may very well repeat some jumps to capitalize on improvements. Please note that once “sign up” is closed, we cannot allow jumpers to join in and drop out if this is to be successful. So come out and jump! Tess and Dean Schlemmer and Jeff Hoffmeier will take care of manifesting, planning dives, running the “dirt dives”, and debriefing when practical. Just show up with the proper gear (RW suit preferred) and plan on spending the day! While there is no plan for video, if an *entire* group agrees to split the slot, we will see if we can get someone to jump with us. Here is the schedule so far: MAY 12:
Sign-up for the day MAY 19-20 We did not have anything planned for this coming
weekend (May 19 / 20) but now we DO plan to be at the Orange both days to
"organize". We will be there on Saturday (19th) around *noon*
and will also be there all day Sunday (20th) for what we have called "OPEN
ORGANIZING" - both days. (Since it is "OPEN", I doubt
mentioning a start time matters at all...) JULY - : To be announced We hope to see you there! Mark your calendars! Tess, Dean, and Jeff
